Why did I just now think of this?

Have people been doing this for decades and I missed the memo? Or am I the only one who does this? I love hot chocolate. I've been loving it for years, but I never really thought much about "spicing it up" until now. I tried putting coffee creamer in my hot chocolate, and it is so good! It makes it richer, and more flavorful. More fattening too of course, but it's worth it! My favorite is a chocolate raspberry creamer, but there are so many different options! Mint, hazelnut, vanilla, cinnamon, caramel, even biscotti or creme brulee flavors! You must try it!!! Mmmm, I wish I had some creamer left, because now I'm craving it!

Love my new shoes!

I received many Target giftcards for Christmas, and these shoes are the first thing I bought! They just came in the mail yesterday and I'm so excited to wear them!

Rain rain rain

It is raining like crazy here in "sunny southern california" normally I loathe the rain, but I am actually enjoying it this year. I love the sound of the rain, and the cozy feeling in my warm house. It's the perfect hot chocolate weather, and I love love love hot chocolate. The other thing making this weather tolerable is getting to use this cute houndstooth umbrella that my sister in law left at my house. Shhh! Don't tell!

Love this photo!

Ready, set, fight!
I came across this photo on Flickr and I love it, I can't help but smile when I look at it. The photo is titled "two women boxing" and I'm not sure where it came from, or if they were really about to start throwing punches. Can you just imagine though!

Bread and butter.

So simple. So easy. So good. All you need is good bread and real butter and you will have perfection. I like to lightly toast mine and then put a generous amount of butter on. I know it's not the healthiest snack, but it tastes so good. I love bread!!!

Have a cup of hot chocolate on the side, and it makes it even better. The saltiness of the butter and bread amplify the sweetness of the hot chocolate. Mmmm, sometimes simple is just right.

Cool website!

I found this website through the Little Green Notebook. It's a Japanese website that turns your photos into faux vintage photos. It's really fun, and looks pretty real! If you'd like to try it visit HERE! Enjoy! Here is one of my photos before and after!

Have you tasted these?

Have you tried French macarons? Don't confuse them with coconut macaroons, they are completely different, and in my opinion so much better. They are two meringue type of cookies sandwiched together with a creamy, frosting, ganache type of filling. I can only imagine how much better they taste in Paris! Many bakeries are starting to make them, though they can still be a bit hard to find. If you live in a large city, you should be able to find them easily. If you live in a smaller area you might not be able to find them at a bakery near you. In that case you have two options, order them online ( it is expensive though, macarons can be anywhere from a dollar to three dollars, but when you factor in shipping, and minimum purchase, it adds up) so the best option is heading to your local trader joes. For $4.99 you get a box of twelve, they are frozen and must be thawed. The box comes with 6 vanilla and 6 chocolate, which is sad because the bakeries make everything from pistachio, to pumpkin, to boysenberry. They are also quite small, and not as good as from the bakery, but they are the only option sometimes and still pretty darn good. So try some, and tell me what you think!

Here's what the Trader Joe's version look like!

Cutest little outfits!

These little vintage outfits are so adorable! I can just imagine how adorable they would look on a little girl. By the time I can afford one, my little girl will be too big for them though! If anyone has 60 to 150 dollars to spend on a dress for their little one then head on over to www.belleheir.com where you will find different dresses and two piece outfits for babies to about 5 years of age. Some of the clothes are from as far back as 1890!

SMILE!!!!

I am starting this blog in effort to focus more on the positive beautiful things in life. I made a new years resolution, to find more joy in the small things, and find happiness in the little moments. I am going to try and stop and smell the roses more often. I plan to post at least one thing everyday that makes me happy, makes me smile, laugh, or feel any other positive emotion. There is always something bad on the news, there are so many ugly scary things in the world, but I am not going to focus on those things. This is a happy blog, which I hope will help me and any readers count our blessings, and try to find at least one thing about each day that is beautiful, inspiring, laugh inducing, or at least brings a smile to each of our faces!
